Haiku #32: The Death Star

I was visiting U.C. Davis the other day and learned of the Social Sciences and Humanities building, which students called “The Death Star” where many got lost and discouraged.  I took some photos of the building and was inspired to write this haiku.

“Concrete” labyrinth,
a maze through humanities,
to be lost… in thought.

UCD Students – May the 4th be with you!

Haiku #26

It was a relatively warm winter day, so I decided to go for a walk and observed the beauty of childhood wonder and joy.  This is a poem based on my observation and reaction to such a sight.  I did not have a camera or a phone with me, so the image is one I took from Google of a similar scenario.  I hope you enjoy it =)

Beautiful warm day,
two kids run around a pole.
Life is good – childhood.
