The Love of My Life

As the sun starts to rise,
I can feel her breath upon me
with the scent of morning dew.

Dancing in the breeze,
she glows with life.

Her hair rustles in the wind,
skirt flowing hypnotically
back and forth, rhythmically
and I am captivated
by her beauty.

Her wrinkled bulldog
skin glows with warmth
and I long to caress
each bump, each curve,
each crevice, touching it,
loving it, knowing it,
controlling it, predicting
her sometimes erratic behavior
as she breaks down
and cries,
shedding inches and inches
of tears
until her clothes
are no longer
dry.

When her anxiety is gone,
she smiles once more
and breaks my heart
with her rainbow emotions
and famous mid-day pastels.

Her mix of pinks and oranges
overlapping purples, intertwining
emotions freeze my eyes
with longing and I want to hold her
in my arms, in my memory
forever
under the golden, vanilla
sky.

Refreshingly sweet,
she whispers melodies
throughout the night,
calming my nerves
with her gentle voice,
brushing away pain
with a simple sweep
of her hand.

Late at night,
when I’m lost,
she guides me
with her moonlight.
Her sensual curves
of earthly tones
glows with love
as she undresses
before me
and I am struck
with awe.

A twinkle of light
sparkles in her eyes
as she melts
into the night
and I am mesmerized,
knowing, we would never
be one.

Beauty in Silence

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day last Friday.  To help you continue some of that romance, I’d like to share a sweet love poem with you.

Beauty in Silence

On a wooden bench,
we sit
with our endearing
shadows.
Your arm
around my shoulder,
my head on yours.

Fuzzy cashmere
brushes my cheek
as we watch
cars zoom by –
a flash of metal,
a puff of dust.

A squirrel scurries
across the lawn
as the sprinklers
turn on
with the scent
of Spring.

The breeze ruffles
your hair.
Tulips waver
side to side.
Leaves float
to the ground,
a gentle sound.

The sky changes colors,
the sun drops down
as your breathing
joins with mine.
Watching
the world go by.

Goodbye Floral Beauty

We will be moving office locations this week, so being the sentimental person that I am, I decided to venture out and capture the beautiful floral that I often walk by on a daily basis, as I will no longer see them.  Beautiful Flora, I hope you continue to flourish and bring beauty to all that behold you.  Please know that you will be missed.

Tranquil Beauty

I wrote this poem while on a plane ride and was just mesmerized by the scene unfolding before me.

Tranquil Beauty

High above in the troposphere,
a blanket of clouds form a sea,
thin, wispy and free
floating like cream on your coffee.

Imagine walking through cloudy fog
with no pressure, no resistance,
knee deep and feeling nothing
but the white that you see.

Canoeing through waves of white,
textured clouds, feeling motion
without force, moving, but standing
still in an ocean where there’s no reflection,
but the ones in your mind.

Listen to the wispy clouds crashing
weightlessly against the imaginary shore.
Waves so gentle like foams of cream,
a truly silent beauty.

As the sun starts to set
above the sea of clouds,
gradients of pink and orange
melt into the baby blue sky.
A sunset where
no bird’s eye has really seen.

As we fly lower and lower
into the field of clouds,
a beautiful meadow of white,
sparkles of precipitation
appear before my very eyes,
leaving behind
trails of shooting stars,
in the twilight sky,
a stream of wishes by my window side.
I close my eyes and dream.
