A little belated, but here’s a fun haiku and images from the Festival of Lights event! =)

She visits daily,
watching waves caress the shore,
a lovely goodbye.

I had the honor of being interviewed by Rachelle Escamilla on December 9, 2015 for her poetry radio show “Out of Our Minds” on KKUP Cupertino 91.5 fm. If you missed the show, you can now listen to the podcast online: https://soundcloud.com/rachelle-escamilla/jennykatherineluu.
I hope everyone had a Happy New Year! I wish you all the best for 2016!
The Whisperings Blog is now officially starting its 3rd year. Thanks for all the support!

Trains, they come and go,
People, they too, come and go,
Memories, they stay…

A flock of blackbirds,
like confetti in the sky,
a puzzling omen…

No current, no sound,
just you, me, and the two trees –
peaceful reflection.

I have the honor of being featured on the Poetry Radio Show Out of Our Minds with Rachelle Linda Escamilla on Wednesday, December 9th from 8-9 PM PST. I will be discussing and reading from my book Whisperings: A Decade of Poems, as well as sharing some of my recent haiku. Tune in next Wednesday night to KKUP 91.5 fm or stream it live at KKUP.org.

High on the mountaintop
in the dark of night,
we see a shimmering sea
of florescent orange lights.
A twinkle here, a sparkle there,
no currents, only man-made waves –
cellular, radio, satellite –
connecting you, me, and the world…
wide web, surfing an intangible
ocean, as the lights flicker
and shimmer. We admire
the cool night breeze, the smell
of dry grass, the sound
of singing crickets, the feel
of soft dirt on the bottom
of our soles, as we breathe in
the fresh air, high above
the orange ocean.

Everyone has a childhood dream, what was yours?
When I was 9 years old, I wanted to be a toy designer so that I could bring creativity, imagination and joy to others. I thought it would be a fun and amazing job. Many years later, I’m still a child at heart, but I had almost forgotten about that dream.
When I discovered polymer clay in 2012, that long forgotten dream started to reawaken as I realized I could make cute and unique items with my own two hands and with minimal resources. Little by little, the idea for qtCre8ions started to form in my mind, to the clay in my hands, and finally to the opening of this Etsy shop.
I invite you to visit my shop: http://www.qtcre8ions.etsy.com to browse my collection of clay stamps. Each clay stamp is molded with love and etched with care, and customized just for you.
Whether you are looking for a figurine of your favorite animal, a model of your pet, or a 3-D version of a character for your game, qtCre8ions is here to help fulfill that dream. I hope that every figurine that I create will bring a smile to someone’s lips.
